Service performance of teflon hose.It can be said that Teflon is a very stable polymer material, which can't chemically react with 99% of chemicals, so it can be described as the little prince of high temperature in chemistry. Teflon is hardly corroded by any chemical agent except molten alkali metal. For example, when boiled in concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid or even aqua regia, its weight and performance have no change. It is almost insoluble in solvents and only slightly soluble in all alkanes (about 0.1g/100g) above 300℃. Common chemical corrosion products that teflon can resist: Acidic corrosion products: sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, acetic acid (content > 80%), etc. Alkaline corrosion products: sodium hydroxide, calcium hydrosulfide, sodium sulfide, hydrazine hydrate (containing hydrazine ≤64%), sodium ethoxide, diethanolamine, dicyclohexylamine, etc. Other corrosive products: methanol, chromium fluoride, dichloroacetaldehyde, chloroform, sodium phenolate, etc. Teflon has so many advantages, but its disadvantages are high hardness and difficult molding. Therefore, when this material is made into a hose product, it inevitably faces some problems: thick-walled pipes are easy to be produced and molded, but the flexibility decreases and the bending radius is large; Deep valley corrugation can compensate for the stiffness caused by thick wall, but it may produce dead angle for cleaning.
